What Do the Latest Numbers for Our Market Look Like?
Here’s your market update for July of 2018. The latest numbers are in and we’re going to share them with you today.
In Madison, there were 541 sales, which is up 3.5% from the number of sales we had in July 2017. The average price for those sales was $312,000, which is up 7.5% compared to what we saw in July 2017.
In Waunakee, we saw 37 sales in July, which is up 8% from the number of sales we had in July 2017. The average sale price here was $436,000, which is actually down 1% from the average sale price from last July.
For Sun Prairie, we saw 106 sales in July 2018, up 7% from the number of sales in July 2017. The average sale price of $297,000 remained flat year over year.
“If you’re thinking of selling your home, it’s wise to get it done sooner than later.”
Finally, in DeForest/Windsor, we saw a big drop in home sales. We had just 30 in July, which is down 30% from July 2017. The average sale price of $296,000 was a slight drop from what we saw in July 2017.
There’s no question that the market is slowing down right now and we’re transitioning to a buyer’s market. If you’re thinking of selling your house, I’d get going on it sooner rather than later unless you plan on waiting until next year.
In any case, if you have any questions for me about the market or about your personal situation, don’t hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
