Why You Shouldn’t Use Zillow
Today I am going to tell you why you should not use Zillow when searching for homes or trying to determine your home’s value. Zillow spends millions of marketing to you so that they can sell their advertising and your information to agents who are working in the area.
Zillow has all kinds of properties on their sites that aren’t actually for sale. For example, their “pre-foreclosure” listings are just homes that have court records of being foreclosed on. Those homes aren’t actually for sale.
“The listings on our site are directly connected to the MLS.”
I do highly recommend Zillow for looking at for sale by owner homes, but for MLS properties, they’ll never show you if a home is sold or not. They’d rather show you that a home is for sale so that you’ll contact the agent who listed it, even if a contract has already been agreed upon. On our site, bradbret.com, listings are connected directly to the MLS and the status that is shown is always accurate.
